The Modern Youth Apprenticeship program is a partnership between Ivy Tech, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) and Deaconess Healthcare Systems to provide training and post-secondary credit for Work Based Learning.
Program Information:
- The Sterile Supply Technician is a registered apprenticeship program with the Department of Labor.
- Available to EVSC Senior High School Students
- Coursework & clinicals completed at Ivy Tech & a Deaconess site.
- Students employed by Deaconess Healthcare Systems
- Certificate (22 credits) as a Sterile Supply Technician
- Coursework & clinicals completed at Ivy Tech & a Deaconess site.
- There will be no tuition/books/fees charged to the students.
- Student schedule
- EVSC Schedule each day until 11:00 & transport to Ivy Tech by 11:30
- Ivy Tech coursework 2-3 afternoons per week (11:30 – 1:50)
- Work at Deaconess as a Sterile Supply Student Tech for 2-3 afternoons a week for up to 20 hours a week
- Apprentices starting rate of pay is $15.00 per hour.
- Any clinical externship hours are unpaid time.
- Increase to $15.25 per hour once certification is complete.
