Gifts to the Foundation transform local health care

COVID-19 Support Fund
COVID-19 Support Fund
During this pandemic, many new opportunities have risen to help our patients and front line health care workers. We see acts of sacrifice, creativity and innovation each day. Modern health care has undoubtedly reached levels of sophistication only dreamed of by the men and women who founded Deaconess Hospital more than a century ago, but the convictions on which the hospital was built - compassionate care, quality caregivers and commitment to service and medical science - remain the same.

These core values will continue to guide our journey through this pandemic and into a new world of medicine.

Your financial support will enable Deaconess to continue its long history of making new technology and resources available to our patients and medical professionals. From a play therapy kit for a child needing mental health services at home to cutting-edge laboratory testing technology, each gift makes a difference.

Our commitment to progressive, patient-centered care guides our work every day. Thank you for giving to our COVID-19 Support Fund.

COVID-19 Support: Supplying Play Therapy Kits
COVID-19 Support: Supplying Play Therapy Kits
Autumn Brown, LCSW, RPT, a registered play therapist with Deaconess Cross Pointe, is now offering telemedicine (virtual visit) therapy sessions for her patients. She realized that some families may not have access to toys/art supplies that are needed for play therapy in their home. Autumn worked with the Children's Museum of Evansville to create play kits for children, so none of her patients would go without the items they need for therapy.
COVID-19 Support: Digital Stethoscopes Protect Staff
COVID-19 Support: Digital Stethoscopes Protect Staff
Through a grant from the Foundation, Deaconess Critical Care and Emergency purchased digital EKO stethescopes. These innovative stethescopes allow one clinician to use a digital device to listen to a patient's heart and breathing while other physicians and nurses can receive the information to their phones while outside the room.
Continuing Education for Medical Assistants
Continuing Education for Medical Assistants
Deaconess provided a "Partners in Patient Excellence" which provided local, free continuing education to Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs). Through donor gifts, Deaconess CMAs received valuable education to improve patient care.

Mission Statement:
To advance the compassionate and caring spirit of Deaconess Health through a legacy of building relationships and cultivating charitable giving.

Deaconess Foundation is the fundraising and charitable arm of the Deaconess Health System. Since our founding in 1972, we have raised and distributed funds to support education, training, and direct medical services for residents of the Tri-State area.

We invest in current and future medical professionals to ensure that our staff can adapt and thrive in the constantly changing world of health care. We commit to providing direct services like mammogram and pelvic ultrasounds for women who cannot afford them and life-saving equipment including Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to increase the chance of successful intervention and outcomes for our patients.

Your contributions of time and resources improve the quality and delivery of health care. Thanks to your continued generosity, and that of our community and supporters, Deaconess Foundation continues to impact the health of our Tri-State area.
