Bladder Infection/Urinary Tract Infection
Infection of the urinary tract that frequently causes painful urination.
BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia)
An enlarged prostate gland common in aging men. Symptoms include difficulty starting and maintaining urine flow, weak urine stream, urgency and feeling that the bladder is full, even after urinating.
Cancer
The general name for a class of diseases where abnormal cells grow and invade healthy cells. Cancers specific to urology include prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular.
Hydronephrosis
Swelling of the kidney caused by a blockage in the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder (ureter). Possible causes include a kidney stone, an infection, an enlarged prostate, a blood clot, or a tumor. Symptoms include difficulty urinating and pain in the side, abdomen, or groin.
Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome
Chronic bladder condition. It's often mistaken for a urinary tract infection (UTI), but there is no infection. Symptoms include bladder and pelvic pain or pressure and a frequent urge to urinate.
Kidney Stones
Hard deposits of minerals and acid salts that stick together in concentrated urine. They can be painful when passing through the urinary tract, but usually don't cause permanent damage. The most common symptoms are severe pain, usually in the side of the abdomen, and nausea.
Male Reproductive Problems/Impotency/Erectile Dysfunction
A man's inability to get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction can be a sign of a physical or psychological condition. It can cause stress, relationship strain, and low self-confidence.
Peyronie’s Disease
A connective tissue disorder involving the growth of fibrous plaques in the soft tissue of the penis causing pain, abnormal curvature, erectile dysfunction, indentation, loss of girth and shortening.

Conditions involving loss of bladder control. The severity ranges from occasionally leaking urine when coughing or sneezing to having an urge to urinate that's so sudden and strong you don't get to a toilet in time.
