Allergy Conditions

Asthma
A lung disease caused by inflammation of the airways of the lungs and a chronic disease that can be treated but not completely cured. The types of asthma treated include: allergen-triggered asthma, exercise-induced asthma, cough-variant asthma, and occupational asthma.

Contact Dermatitis
Irritation from something that touches your skin causing it to become red, sore, itchy or swollen. The two main types include irritant dermatitis and allergic contact dermatitis.

Drug Allergy
Abnormal reaction of the immune system to a certain medication.

Eczema
A condition that causes the skin to become inflamed or irritated.

Environmental Allergies
The body’s reaction to substances in the environment: dust mites, mold, pollen, pet dander.

Eosinophilic Esophagitis
A chronic immune system disease in which the esophageal tissue becomes inflamed and potentially damaged.








Food Allergy or Food Sensitivity
Food allergies cause an immune system response to food as though it were a harmful substance releasing chemicals that can cause hives, tongue swelling, shortness of breath and other symptoms. Food sensitivity usually results in the digestive system reacting to enzymes or proteins in food.

Hives
Itchy welts or bumps on the skin, often as an allergic response to food or other substances.

Immunodeficiency Diseases
Occurs when the immune system is defective or missing. Immunodeficiency could be a result from certain conditions, diseases or medicines that weaken the immune system or could be present at birth.

Nasal Polyps
Small, tear shaped growths in the nasal passages and/or sinuses. They are not necessarily cancerous but are capable of causing discomfort.

Rashes
Inflammation of the skin, commonly includes: itching, stinging or irritation, redness, swelling, bumps, blisters, dry or cracked skin.

Sinusitis
Inflammation or swelling of the sinuses, sometimes referred to as a sinus infection or rhinosinusitis. Typically due to a cold or respiratory allergies.
