Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) is a vital component of our Family Medicine Residency, providing residents with hands-on experience in delivering comprehensive, team-based care. Through close collaboration, consultation, and warm handoffs with behavioral health providers, residents learn to address the mental, emotional, and social factors that impact physical health. This model enhances patient outcomes by embedding behavioral health services directly into the primary care setting—supporting the treatment of common conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and chronic disease management. Our program equips residents with the skills to engage in whole-person care, promote wellness, and reduce stigma while preparing them to lead in a healthcare system that values integration and collaboration.
