Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Deaconess Clinic at Work
Deaconess Clinic at Work is an innovative on-site or near-site medical facility providing a wide array of high quality primary care and preventive services.
As part of your employer’s on-going effort to boost employee well-being, the clinic provides convenient access to care increasing patient engagement and improving long-term care results. The clinic will focus on keeping healthy people healthy, preventing chronic conditions and managing existing chronic conditions with easily accessible and affordable near-site healthcare services.
Typically, the clinic will be available to all area employees and their family members enrolled in your employers sponsored medical plan.
Examples of services at the clinic include but are not limited to:
- Annual exams
- Physical exams
- Acute care (cold, flu, infections, muscle/joint pain etc.)
- Chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
- Lab tests
- Medication refills *Must have initial visit with provider prior to requesting refills.
- Wellness/Lifestyle Coaching
- Emotional/Stress care
- Basic in-office procedures
- EKG(i.e. lung function test)

Should you require care that the clinic cannot provide, the clinic provider will help you seek care through a local, in-network provider.
Our goal is to minimize your waiting time and thus maximize your time spent with the provider.
There is no cost to you and your dependents enrolled in your employer sponsored medical plans for any clinic visit.

There is no cost for any medication on the clinic formulary list. The formulary medications that are dispensed are the generic equivalent of the name brand medicine listed on the formulary. Additional medications not on the formulary can be called in to the pharmacy of your choice and can be purchased using your prescription insurance card.
If you have a prescription written by your doctor you must visit the clinic regarding the need for the medication before it can be filled at the clinic.
Please bring a Photo ID and your insurance card along with a current list of medications you are taking.

For patient convenience, additional labs not shown above can be drawn. Those services will be billed to the patient’s insurance. The clinic will be a lower cost option for additional labs as there will be no cost for the actual blood draw.
No, the clinic is operated by Deaconess Clinic at Work, the only non-profit provider of near-site clinic services in the tri-state. The clinic is staffed with a trained and experienced Nurse Practitioner as well as clinical support staff. The Nurse Practitioner will have a local Family Medicine Physician medical director that will oversee all visit documentation and treatment of care.
Your personal health information is confidential and your data is kept secure. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) sets the standard for sensitive patient data protection. Companies (such as Deaconess Clinic at Work) that deal with protected health information (PHI) must have physical, network, and process security measures in place and follow them to ensure HIPAA compliance.
Yes! All employees enrolled in MyChart will have access to lab results, visit summaries, appointments, messaging to provider and nurse and much more. Medical Records can also be provided to the health provider of your choice with a signed release of information provided at the clinic.
MyChart connects you with your healthcare experience by providing convenient access to your providers, health records, visit history, test results and more. It is a secure online and mobile tool that puts your health information in your hands.
With MyChart you can:
- View and print your personal medical information
- Request medication refills
- Send messages/questions to your health care provider
- View all of your lab and x-ray results from Deaconess
- Schedule future appointments with your Deaconess Clinic at Work provider
- Pay a bill (if applicable)

No, receiving care at the clinic is completely optional. The choice is yours. You can continue to receive care from your primary care provider if you desire. However, the near-site clinic is a convenient, low/no cost option for you and your family to receive quality care. If you choose to receive primary care services at the clinic but need a referral to a specialist, the clinic team will help connect you to the appropriate specialist for your health plan.
Worker’s comp situations should continue to be reported and handled through the current process with your employer.
