Does Your Child Have Hereditary Angioedema?

Pediatric Hereditary AngioedemaHereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare genetic disorder caused by a deficiency of a blood protein called C1-INH. Symptoms of HAE may include swelling of the hands, face, feet, abdomen and throat. Attacks of HAE typically have a rapid onset, and symptoms may subside gradually over three to five days.

Deaconess Clinic Department of Allergy and Immunology is participating in a clinical research study of an investigational oral medication for the treatment of HAE attacks in kids age 2 to 11. Qualified participants receive study-related medical care at no cost.
