Evansville, Ind. – Deaconess Clinic is proud to announce the grand opening of its newest facility, Deaconess Clinic Felstead. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held earlier today, marked a significant milestone in Deaconess’ mission to provide quality healthcare to the west side community and beyond.

Dr. Brad Scheu, speaking at the event, highlighted the clinic’s importance:

“Today marks an exciting milestone in our commitment to providing quality healthcare close to home for our west side community and beyond. This new facility embodies Deaconess' dedication to expanding access to comprehensive care across our region.”

The state-of-the-art building spans 31,500 square feet and features:

  • 18 primary care exam rooms
  • 10 pediatric exam rooms
  • 2 treatment rooms
  • 2 behavioral health exam rooms
  • Lab and X-ray facilities for future growth
  • 8,500 square feet of shell space for future expansion

Deaconess Clinic Felstead will officially open on August 5, 2024, offering a range of services including pediatrics and family medicine. Behavioral health services, along with lab and X-ray capabilities, will be added in the near future.

Pediatric care will be led by Dr. Custer and Dr. Marx, who are relocating from the Boehne Camp Road location, which will continue to serve the community. Family medicine will be provided by Dr. Fehrenbacher, also from Boehne Camp Road, along with new providers Dr. Ziliak and Dr. Rahman. A behavioral health provider will join the team in the future.

In addition, Deaconess Clinic at Work will launch in October at the same site, offering employer near-site clinic services with a dedicated Nurse Practitioner, a lab and two exam rooms. This innovative service will provide convenient healthcare to local employers and their employees who have contracted with Deaconess.

Dr. Scheu also acknowledged the hard work that went into constructing the facility:

“We broke ground on July 12, 2023, and completed construction on June 28, 2024. The project faced a unique challenge – our contractors had to excavate approximately 380 cubic yards of rock, which equates to about 1,000,000 pounds! Despite this hurdle, construction proceeded smoothly, and we're proud of the result.”

At Deaconess, the belief that excellent healthcare should be accessible to all drives their expansion efforts. The new clinic represents an ongoing commitment to increasing services, expanding the provider base, and extending geographical reach, ensuring high-quality care is always close to home.

As Dr. Scheu concluded:

“As we cut this ribbon today, we're not just opening a new building – we're opening new possibilities for health and wellness in our community. We're deepening our roots on the west side and reinforcing our commitment to serve you better.”
