Deaconess Care Integration Joint Venture: Orthopedics
OrthoAlign, LLC
In an effort to improve coordination of care and create programs that will result in achieving the “Three Part Aim” of providing improved care for the Medicare Fee-For-Service beneficiaries we serve, better health for the populations we care for, and doing so in a financially sustainable manner, Deaconess Hospital, Orthopaedic Associates, Inc. and its participating physicians, in collaboration with DCI, formed the joint venture OrthoAlign, LLC, in October 2016.
Under this arrangement, OrthoAlign, LLC, working in coordination with Orthopaedic Associates, Inc. and its participating physicians (and their affiliate, OA Management Services Inc.), provides management and related administrative services to Deaconess Hospital in connection with various orthopedic procedures performed at its Gateway campus and various orthopedic services performed at its Midtown Campus, including certain spine procedures and orthopedic trauma services, in an effort to improve care for patients who receive orthopedic services. In addition, participating physicians follow approved clinical pathways, including, for example, the following:
- Clinical Protocols based on Best Practice
- Patient-Centered, coordinated care throughout the continuum
- Medical Device selection based on the individual patient needs
- Standardization of care to support best practice and reduce unnecessary financial expenditures
The OrthoAlign joint venture allows Deaconess Hospital, Orthopaedic Associates, Inc. and its participating physicians to work in collaboration with DCI to create collective accountability and to facilitate the parties in achieving the goals and objectives of DCI, including the goals of the MSSP ACO Model.
